The State Research and Production Enterprise “Bazalt” is developing the RPG-32 (“HASHIM”) multi-purpose grenade launcher system to meet the technical specifications of the Jordanian-Russian Electronic Systems Company.
The world’s first multi-caliber grenade launcher HASHIM is a new-generation weapon combining the best features and merits of grenade launcher systems of this category.
The system consists of two parts: a reloadable grenade launcher with a firing life of 200 shots min, and a set of single-use multi-caliber transportation/launch containers accommodating rounds.
The grenade launcher is lightweight and compact, its length is 360mm, the weight is 3kg. The grenade launcher is equipped with a convenient optical collimating sight to allow for efficient firing of any type of rounds up to a range of 700m. The grenade launcher can also be fitted with a night sight.
The containers are loaded with two types of rounds: an antitank one with a tandem shaped-charge WH, and an assault one with a thermobaric WH. A set of such containers makes it possible to engage all existing targets: current tanks, armored vehicles, fortifications, infantry located on the battlefield including manpower sheltered in buildings and structures, etc.
The antitank round ensures efficient engagement of current and advanced tanks. The assault round WH provides for fragmentary and cumulative effects in addition to the thermobaric one.
The grenade launcher system boasts well thought-out ergonomics characteristics to ensure rapid loading and high accuracy of aiming, as well as convenience of firing from any position (standing, kneeling, prone).
For the first time the RPG-32 mock-up was displayed at the Stand of the Jordanian-Russian Electronic Systems Company during the Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) held in April, 2006.
In February, 2007 the RPG-32 grenade launcher system was demonstrated in Jordan to His Majesty King Abdullah II to confirm high efficiency of firing against various armored and lightly-armored targets using shaped-charge and thermobaric rounds.
HASHIM trials demonstrated excellent results outstripping the design characteristics. The Jordanian military’s requirements were satisfied to the full extent, and no wonder that the Stand where HASHIM was displayed during the IDEX’2007 International Exhibition commanded the attention of the Near and Middle East countries delegations.
