Within the period of 18 to 22 Febryary,2007 the IDEX’2007 International Defense Exhibition was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

At IDEX’2007 FSIE “SRPE “Bazalt” exhibited its antitank and assault grenade launcher systems intended for use by Land Forced. Among the exhibits was the RPG-29N grenade launcher with the PG-29V round (antitank) and the TBG-29V round (thermobaric). This antitank system evoked lively interest in the world.

At the IDEX’2007 Exhibition it attracted the particular attention of representatives of Middle and Near East Armed Forces. Military experts of some countries expressed willingness to purchase this formidable weapon. Its high reliability and efficiency, as well as excellent accuracy of fire make it very attractive for potential customers. It was for the first time that Bazalt displayed its latest developments RPG-28 and RMG at a foreign international exhibition. RPG-28 is an antitank weapon system of a 125mm caliber featuring unique armor penetration. It immediately commanded the attention of not only would-be buyers but of antitank weapon developers from Western and South Easters countries, as well.

According to one of foreign experts in armored vehicles protection none of existing tanks including those fitted with add-on or built-in explosive reactive armor (ERA) is capable of withstanding an RPG-28 grenade direct hit.

The RMG multi-purpose weapon system was also the focus of attention. The WH of its round based on the tandem principle of design is capable of efficient engaging armored targets and destructing fortified weapon emplacements with forming a breach in brick or reinforced concrete walls which size is sufficient for breakthrough of assaulting unit soldiers. The distinguishing feature of RMG is that it is equipped with the so-called “intellectual” fuze which is a know-how of this Russian weapon. It provides automatic correction of WH defeat action depending on the target type. This feature generated considerable excitement among foreign experts and would-be buyers of this multi-purpose weapon.

One of Bazalt’s latest developments exhibited at IDEX’2007 was RPG-32. This grenade launcher system was displayed at the Stand King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The system is being developed by Bazalt’s specialists to Jordan’s order and is given the name “HASHIM”. The RPG-32 grenade launcher system comprises a reloadable multi-purpose launcher fitted with an optical sight and a set of multi-caliber single-use containers (105mm and 72.5mm) accommodating antitank tandem and thermobaric grenades.

The demonstration firings conducted by Russian specialists in Jordan in February, 2007 in the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II confirmed high destructive power of the weapon.

Considerable interest to this weapon system demonstrated at IDEX’2007 by Arab countries delegations is evidence of its high potentialities provided by its developers. The weapon will be produced on the territory of Jordan.
